A fascinating practical course that will introduce you to the styles of some well- known and not so well-known painters with people as their subject and help you to use their approaches and techniques to inspire your own artwork.
Painting of people, both as portraits or within groups, has been popular throughout the centuries and there are endless different styles and approaches to this subject matter. The course will give you new ideas about how you may like to approach people you would like to paint. It is not about imitation but about inspiration.

All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.

Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

Papercraft: Making Calendars and cards

This is a great opportunity to make some simple gifts for others and/or yourself in the run up to the festive period. You’ll get a chance to design and create a range of calendars and cards from paper with guidance and inspiration on hand to help.

In this class you’ll be able to make fantastic items such as an advent or annual calendar, pop up and folded cards and more. You’ll learn skills such as planning your work, folding and measuring accurately, cutting paper safely and simple printing.
